Beaded Collar Jacquard Dress - Warehouse / Purple Tights - Target / Pyramid Stud Bracelet - Forever 21 / Black Bow Bracelet - Henri Bendel / Gina Woven Wedge - Shoemint

For years I was on the hunt for a dress form. Luckily, my local Urban Outfitters was selling some of theirs, and I nabbed this dress form on the uber cheap. Both from a design and fashion standpoint, I love the look of a dress form in my bedroom. It lets me try outfits out before I wear them, and acts as a visual piece that I can adorn with my favorite necklaces.

And even though I love accessories, sometimes, you find a dress that really doesn't need much fussing with. Take this Purple Beaded Collar Jacquard dress from Warehouse. Besides for the print being beautiful, it features an adorable bejeweled Peter Pan collar which absolutely acts as the perfect all-in-one-accessory.

I paired it with shoes that are equally ornamental: the Shoemint Gina wedge. Yes, ladies, they are mighty comfortable and worth every penny.

Although I love my dress form, I rather be taking photos outside. Let's hope NJ gets a break in the winter weather so I can step into the sun again!

Stripes Are A Necessity

I've learned two things this month.

1. Don't let any other person besides the person who always cuts your bangs, cut your bangs. Even if your hairdresser is on vacation. Suffer with the long hair.

Learned that on the hard way when I had to have a much-needed bang trim. I'm sure my bangs don't look too much different to you, but they're just too thinned out... and not blunt enough. <Sigh>.

 2. Stay away from creepy cats.

3. Stripes are a necessity. I still can't quite tell if the stripes on my blazer are navy or black... Honestly, I don't care. It's striped. It's got some type of stripe on it. And did I mention, it's striped?

And you know I can't resist a bargain. The dress, from Urban Outfitters, features a Peter Pan collar... and cost me $9! The tights were equally economical from JC Penney, and the shoes are from Forever 21... even if they don't want to be my Twitter friend, I still love their clothes.

Eagles of Death Metal

My first post for 2012 - hope you had a great New Years! Mine was rather low key compared to others... the first year I really hunkered down at home and mellowed out. Being that I need to save my pennies for other rainy days, I didn't mind too much.

I wish I could say I've been wearing dresses lately, but I haven't since Christmas. It's way to cold... even for outfit pics. So, I've been on the look-out for pants that aren't just generic jeans and that I can style up in a way that doesn't look to casual.

The photos don't show it very well, but my pants are actually a python print jean from the Gap. I guess it was somewhat appropriate I was wearing them on this day... While Mike was taking my photos, a neighbor happened to be blasting some type of death metal. Hence, the metal sign.

Studded Black Satchel - Zara

And I had forgotten I bought this peter pan collared shirt in England last Christmas! So comfortable and of course, it's striped - so it was a must have!

While I always say I try not to wear so much black, I really can't help it. Most, if not, all of my recent purchases have been grey or black. It's definitely an unconscious thing as I have tried to keep my closet more colorful. But I guess black is old faithful for me.
