Sunnies and Spikes

I'm really not ready for summer to be over. Especially when it means I can still wear dresses like this.

While I told myself I would stop buying summer clothes a couple of weeks ago, I managed to sneak one more dress into my closet for August. I picked this floral number up from Urban Outfitters in Westfield, NJ after a blogger reunion with one of my favorite people, Amanda of FashionbleeMe, last weekend during her trip to NJ! So glad I get to a.) not only catch up with her whenever she visits. but b.) call her my friend.

I love the cut of this shirt dress so much, I might go back and buy it in pink!

I absolutely believe my summer style trumps my winter looks. It's a more "Jen-esque" season in my book as I really get to experiment with more clothing options that reflect my hipster roots while channeling my inner Brit: Ridiculously campy prints, rock band t-shirts, colors that leave me gobsmacked and of course, skirts for days.

One item that was always a constant when I was younger was footwear that let me feel like a girl, but also allowed me to play up my tomboy tendencies while remaining super feminine. Keds were a part of my childhood then, and now, I get to rock these Americana classics as an adult in polka dots!

And while skirts pretty much are the epitome of being a girl, I love that I can put on a pair of low tops and still feel like my normally, girly girl self.
