Mani Monday: Nail Rock Striped Mani

Thank God for nail strips.

I do most of my nail art by hand, without a stencil or Konad (which I do want to buy eventually). Since nail strips have come a long way, and are now available in funky patterns, the mani game got a lot more creative.

I've used various brands, but the best nail polish strips I've found which not only look good, but stay on, are Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps. They're a UK company, but I bought mine at CVS.

I've purchased multiple Nail Rock patterns, and so far, I've been uber satisfied with the results. You apply them just like any other strips, but what's best about these: The finish. While they do have a shine to them, it's not overly glossy, so it blends well with your nail or other polishes you'll pair with em.

The results?

I'm sorry, but I'm in love with my nails. I didn't want to use all the striped wraps all at once so I went with a classic combo of pink, white and black. The gold glitter tips were done using Julep's Oscar. Easy, cheap and fly!

Monday Mani: DIY Studded Nails!

Monday's Mani features one of my favorite accessories - studs!

I couldn't pass up these awesome stud nail decals at Harmon's - $2.95 for a pack of silver, gold and multi-color studs!

I've been a long admirer of nail salon Valley NYC - they have some of the craziest nail designs hands down, including studs, acrylic bows and 3-D Japanese nail art. But since I haven't made it there yet, this DIY confection will do.

What I love about this mani is that it looks like it took some effort to create, but it was beyond simple thanks to the studs.

However, the studs started to fall off this morning, and I painted my nails last night. Maybe I'll just use one as an accent instead of all 5 fingers.

What's your Monday Mani look like?

Mani Monday: Freshly Intense

Day 23: 30-Day No Shopping Challenge
Since I didn't win the Mega Millions, it's back to blogging.
Oh, and...  I shopped this weekend. For Mike and Harley, that is.

I know how giddy I get when someone brings home a little somethin' somethin' for me, so why not share the love with the two fellas in my life who make me happy.

Mani Monday
Normally, I paint my ring finger a different color, but for this manicure, I figured I'd experiment a bit. Plus, I was itching to use Zoya's Heidi, a bold orangey coral!

Since I was short on time, I applied solid coats of Heidi and Julep's Helena, which I received in my February Maven box. I'm diggin' the purple and orange together.

As for the glitter, it's Color Club's Backstage Pass - the chunkiest, biggest glitter nail polish I've found yet - stuffed with flecks of silver and purple with a clear topcoat. I wanted the color to stand out, so I applied glitter just along the sides.

Personally, this is my favorite mani yet. Neons and glitter - don't hate. Appreciate.
