The Brights Are Alright

To think that this dress kick started my blog a year ago. Yeah, that's right... this dress is a year old... and I love it.

Before I really figured out what I was doing as far as my blog, I used to take photos in my kitchen against a white wall. Nothing jazzy. But, I liked how the photo turned out, so I entered it into a Refinery 29 contest where reader's had to vote on the most "lady-like" outfit. And I won a $500 gift card, wearing this dress.

From that point on, my interest for blogging grew. I was already working in fashion, too, so why not? And that's how my blog came to be!

Oh, but back to the present. I'm glad fashion is getting their stuff together and putting color first this year. Between the rainbow denim and loud color wheel that's been popping up - I'm one happy hipster.

All Black Everything

Well, we all know how the H&M Versace debaucle ended... So I wasn't planning on going out for Black Friday. Until...

... I remembered a contest I won for a JCPenney gift card... and suddenly, Mike and I were determined to use up my winnings on Black Friday to get some stuff for the apartment, and other goodies.

This called for ninja shopping skills at 7 a.m. and of course, proper attire: all black everything. And yes, that is my kitchen.

Despite what you'd expect on Black Friday, the crowds were manageable and not overwhelming. I was able to take my time, soak up the bargains and walk out of the mall with bags full of gifts and savings. While I love to sleep, I love a bargain even more.

Dare To Be Different

Ever get that rush of excitement from getting a new dress or accessory? In this case, this handbag courtesy of Urban Expressions made me giddy!

Quinn immediately struck me - as I own nothing of the color sort. I usually stick to basic black, but being that I'm trying to step outside my fashion box, I went with something a bit different. Okay, I know it's Fall, but I'm not waiting another season to rock this color. It's got a slue of compartments, doesn't get heavy when you load it up and is vegan friendly and PETA approved! 

While I might have gone a little overboard with the pink for this look, I had to wear my new blazer with it. Cost me $20 on sale at the Gap! I normally don't brag about my bargains, but seriously, major score!
