Wearable Art

Most days, I'm dressing for work or the weekends. But I do own formal dresses that I guess you could say I collect since I might not have too many occasions to wear them. Although I have tomboy tendencies, I really do love getting dressed up for special occasions.

I've been holding on to this gorgeous dress from Anthropologie that I purchased two months ago... off the sale rack. I could not believe this dress was marked down since to me, it is so beautiful. I fell in love with the layered, black netting over the pink and green floral print. I finally got the chance to wear it over the weekend to my dear friend's bridal shower.

The way the black hangs past the hem is what makes this dress so artful and lovely. This is absolutely a wearable art piece that I'm looking forward to breaking out for my next special event!

Brocade and Black

I can't make my mind up whether or not owning so many black tops is a good thing. Sure, black goes with everything, but I'm starting to thinking I'm falling into a comfort zone with it... Then again, when you're wearing printed brocade jeans in black and white, I think it's acceptable. 

I honestly don't know where September went. I feel like September was a very confusing yet clarifying month for me in a lot of ways. Lately, I've been feeling like the path my life is on wasn't what I planned, and sometimes, it can get to me. But, I'm trying my best to grab hold of the reigns and hopefully, steer myself to the place I want to be. With a new season here, it's almost like getting a mini do-over four times a year.

Leather and Stripes

My affliction for stripes as finally found it's way into my pants... Um, okay... that sounds a little raunchy...

I've been searching for a pair of striped pants for a couple of months, but every time I tried a pair on, either the fit wasn't right, the stripes were too thin, the cut of the pant made me feel like I had on clown pants. But, leave it to the Brits to make a proper pair of striped pants: Thank you, Boohoo.com for letting me wear my favorite affliction!

This outfit is how I do a casual Sunday... jeans, a tee and some sick accessories. The laser cut details in my Sole Society Camille bag set off my theme of subtle details with slight contrast. All about leather and lady-like lace details - right down to my Shoemint Gina wedge shoes.
