Weekend Warriors - The Fashion Bloggers Guide To Packing

Outfit:
Striped Tank - Forever 21
Rose Print Skirt - Love Culture
Gladiator Sandals - Target
Bag - Urban Outfitters

I hope everyone had a great Fourth Of July!

I headed down to the Jersey shore for a couple of days... and that meant I had to pack...

Being away from the comfort of your wardrobe makes you face the fact that leisurely picking an outfit to wear for a couple of days isn't an option.

I tend to bring more than what I really need, with half of what I've packed not being worn. This is where editing comes into play. By planning outfits out a head of time, as opposed to throwing random stuff in your suitcase just because it happens to be a favorite piece, you'll save yourself time, space and the annoyance of having to sift through your bag to find what you actually want to wear.

But, the rules for packing are a bit different for us fashion bloggers as we tend to think in terms of potential photo ops for our blogs. Don't we?

So, what should fashion bloggers pack for a weekend trip? Here's my list of weekend wardrobe essentials:

1 pairs of jeans - Regardless of the weather, I wear jeans all year. You might not wear them if the weather is nice, but it's good to have em just in case...

5 Tops - This may seem like a lot, but five gets you through two days, meaning two tops per day - one for day, one for night. The idea of trekking around, sweating it up in the same top doesn't appeal to me. Plus, it's good to have options...

1 skirt - Bring one that goes with any of the tops you've packed.

2 dresses - This is a no-brainer as dresses are embedded in the DNA of fashion bloggers. If you're going on a vacation getaway fro the weekend, you might be doing some research on your destination a head of time, so it pays to have that one dress with you that you'd love to take photos in for your blog!

1 pair of heels, wedges or sandals - *(See below)

Flats or comfortable shoes - Let's face it, ladies. *You wear heels for outfit shots, dinner or a night out, not for sightseeing and hiking. If you're planning on taking in the scenes, walking around for 7 hours in platforms isn't practical. But if you can pull it off, you deserve a metal. Pack sandals or shoes that serve both a fashionable and functional purpose. Besides, you never know when you'll spot a photo op!

Happy traveling!
