She Wore Red

Printed leggings are one of my favorite ways to add dimension to your wardrobe in the winter. Sure, jeans are a staple, but how fun is to wear them constantly? Besides, red velvet leggings look like fun to me!

Outfit Details:
Colorblock Leather Jacket - Rachel Roy / Grey Wool Peplum Sweater - Asos.com / Velvet Floral Print Leggings - Miss Selfridge / Black Leather Ankle Booties - Zara / Madison Leather Lindsey Satchel Coach / Silver Bow Necklace - Gypsy Warrior

I'm still reveling in the shopping I did while in England. I managed to snag these red velvet, floral print leggings from Miss Selfridge. I've been fixated with outfits including these leggings since I can play them up with a peplum sweater, or rock a plain black button front top with them for a more casual look... If you can even call these leggings casual.

This outfit also marks another "happiness investment" I made for my birthday: my second Coach bag, the Madison Leather Lindsey Satchel.

And to top it off, my life-size bow necklace that looks just like the one Hello Kitty wears. Cat power!

Case of the Cyber Mondays

Hope everyone got their grub on for Thanksgiving, and also, their shop on for Black Friday. As promised, I did head out at midnight for some sales, and boy, did it pay off. My husband and I scored a 40" TV on the cheap, and even managed to save on some killer clothing sales.

But the best is yet to come!

I've got my credit card ready, finger on the trigger, and eye on the prize as I scope out these Cyber Monday steals from some of my favorite sites... all of which are hosting sales!

Let's start with a holiday-party themed outfit board filled with every item featured on sale for Cyber Monday!

Cyber Monday Steals

Kate Spade, Jeffrey Campbell, Vanessa Mooney - oh my! I figure it's not too shabby a look for a holiday party. Even though the dress, from Modcloth.com, is red, it's still a great summer buy. And the Kate Spade Ruby Street Little Kennedy Bag is something I've had my eye on for a while now...

A Little Birdie Told Me...

...abstract anything is just cool. And when I can incorporate something that makes the ordinary a little more fun, sign me up. The word "sweater" conjures up stuffy, unstylish apparel, and people shivering. Out of necessity, I wear them, the majority of which are solids.

Outfit Details:
Green Blazer - Forever 21 / Blush Pink Bird Sweater - Forever 21 / Black Stretch Knit Riding Pants - Zara / Black Ankle Booties - Forever 21 / Studded Satchel - Primark / Spiked Leather Bow Bracelet - Miss Selfridge / Vintage Silver Watch - my own / Round Frame Sunnies - Urban Outfitters

But this knit bird sweater adds some much needed artsy-fartsy-ness to my apparel. I'm no stranger to black pants, so tops that I can get function (work) and fashion (all day, every day) out of make their way into my closet.

Oh, and it's random movie reference time, people! Forrest Gump has two things in common with me and this sweater.

1. It's my husband's favorite movie.
2. Forrest's main squeeze was Jenny, and holy coincidence... that's my name!

"Dear God, Make me a bird so I can fly far. Far far away from here."

In this case, fly right into Black Friday. Yes, I am that idiot person who braves the elements all in the name of saving a buck. Last year, I was done shopping by 10 a.m. on Black Friday.

Plan on staying home? Be sure to check out House Of Jeffers on Friday for my favorite Black Friday picks and special coupon codes!

Mani Monday: Metallic Striped Mani

Metallics are becoming my favorite nail polish. I'm turning to gold, silver and any type of metallic nail polish because nail art really pops against these lustrous colors. So, it only made sense that for today's Mani Monday post, I featured a combo of these colors!

This week's Mani Monday is crazy easy to replicate. All you need is your favorite metallic polish, pair it with a complimentary color, and then use another color for your free-hand snail art.

I decided to feature my favorite, and quickest nail fix, stripes, in this nearly effortless mani.

And while I love glitter polish, it is quite the bitch to remove. A helpful hint I use is to warm up my nail polish remover bottle by rolling it between my hands. Sounds a little stupid, but trust me, room temperature remover works better than one that's sitting in a cold cabinet.

Kick In The Pants

To say that I was saving up to go shopping in London is a huge understatement. For reals, though: I was stalking websites in anticipation of buying things in person. Some may call it obsessed, I just call it thought out.

And I don't hide the fact that I'm jealous of British girls due to the fact that they can pull off a pail lip and dark eye liner like no body's business... AND, that they can shop in stores like Miss Selfridge and Primark. I don't care what language a bargain is in - I'm all about a shopping high.

So, remember that infamous Tippi J. Crew heart sweater that sold out like it was on fire? Well, I never got my hands on it... but I did find something that measures up to it!

Outfit Details:
Gold Foil Heart Sweater - Primark
Beat the Drag Colorblock Pants - Threadsense
Two-Tone Satchel - Primark
Black Leather Ankle Boots - Forever 21
Gold Buckle Bracelet - thrift/vintage
Spiked Bracelet - Forever 21
Red and Gold Hoku Bangle - c/o Sequin NYC
Exclamation Point Ring - Wendy Brandes

I paid 14 pounds for this heart sweater - which is about 28 bucks in U.S. dollars. Compared to the J. Crew sweater, which is about $78, I'd say that, yup... Smells like a deal to me!

And the pants, which I ordered from Threadsense before my trip, were waiting for me when I got home.

Talk about a kick in the pants...

Travel Diary: England Part 2

First, I just want to thank everyone for their comments/concern from my last post. Appreciate the love!

But on to some British goodness!

The other part of my trip which I loved seeing was Bath. If you think London is beautiful, you haven't seen anything until you go to Bath.

As the place where the Roman Baths were built, it holds much history and of course, gorgeous architecture. The town itself has preserved the look of the original buildings, but it's the perfect mix of old meets new as the shops and stores surrounding it don't take away for the town's original beauty.

One of my most favorite shops was a place called Octopus, an eccentric gift shop with knick knacks and uber unique housewares. I didn't know it at the time, but my brother and sister-in-law had bought me a gift on the sly for my birthday, which I love!

Sausage for days. <insert dirty joke here>

In the heart of Bath is Bath Abbey, a gorgeous, medieval church. And right next to it, you can take a tour of the Roman Baths, which yes, do work.

Now, if I could only convince my husband to move back to England!
